PI to Invest $13M in Piezo Ceramics
Motion control company PI (Physik Instrumente LP) and its piezo ceramics division, PI Ceramic, have announced plans to invest approximately $13 million in piezo ceramics manufacturing over the next three years. This is the third expansion of the piezo ceramics factory and R&D center, located in Thuringia.

The company announced at its groundbreaking ceremony that, even after adding 50 employees to its piezo ceramics division in 2010, PI Ceramic was close to reaching its output capacity.
It anticipates hiring another 20 to 30 people to keep up with the global demand for its piezo ceramic components and subassemblies.
