Palomar Technologies Invests $1M in EPIC Partnership Agreement

Palomar Technologies, a company that delivers total process solutions for advanced photonics and microelectronic device packaging, is entering into a partnership with the Electronics and Photonics Innovation Center (EPIC) and investing $1 million to establish a Palomar Demonstration Laboratory.

The investment comes in the form of equipment, including a fully loaded 3880 die bonder and an 8000i ball/bump wire bonder to be used by customers at the EPIC facility in Paignton, Torbay, England, the center of the electronics and photonics cluster in the UK.

The Palomar Demonstration Laboratory targets European photonics companies, giving them the opportunity to not only learn more about the company’s techniques driving the photonics market but also to take advantage of prototyping and process development services that utilize Palomar’s experience in the photonics market.

EPIC supports technological innovation and promotes collaborative activity between businesses and research institutions. It focuses on supporting startup and spinoff companies and encourages foreign direct investment to Torbay and its microelectronics and photonics sector.
