Palomar Technologies Meets ISO Standards
Photonic and microelectronic device packaging solutions provider Palomar Technologies has been certified as meeting the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 standards for its corporate offices.
The audit was performed by SGS North America Inc. Palomar met the ISO requirements for the design, manufacturing, sales, servicing, and marketing of automated assembly equipment and contract manufacturing serving the optoelectronic, wireless, disk drive, automotive, aerospace, defense, and medical industries.
“We’re excited at Palomar to earn certification to ISO 9001:2015 as we are committed to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction,” said Michelle Taylor, ISO internal audit lead for Palomar Technologies. “Using the standards helps us to maintain our focus on performing at the highest levels of reliability, quality, and efficiency, while delighting our customers.”
ISO 9001:2015 differs from ISO 9001:2008 in several areas of focus for Palomar. Some of those include a focus on opportunities for improvement; clearer understanding of the organization’s context from a strategic viewpoint; risk-based thinking throughout the management system; and emphasis on measurement of objectives related to the mitigation of risks.
