FREIBURG IM BREISGAU, Germany — Oliver Ambacher is stepping down as director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics IAF. Since Jan. 1, Rüdiger Quay has been acting executive director of the institute. Quay is the Fritz Hüttinger Chair for Energy-Efficient High-Frequency Electronics at Inatech.

KLEVE, Germany — Michael Privik succeeded Christoph Mätzig as business unit managing director for SPECTRO Analytical Instruments GmbH. Mätzig is moving within the AMETEK Group and has taken over management of the Ultra Precision Technologies division. Privik has been a member of the executive board as managing director sales and marketing since 2016.

MORRISVILLE, Pa. — Gelest Inc. named Jonathan Goff president, taking over from Barry Arkles. Edward Kimble will serve as executive vice president, with William Fry serving as CFO. Santy Sulaiman will serve as vice president of research and development.

TUCSON, Ariz. — FISBA LLC, a subsidiary of custom photonics solutions provider FISBA AG, appointed Wallace Latimer president. Latimer previously served as vice president of U.S. sales and marketing. He joined the company in 2016.  


FARMINGTON, Conn. — TRUMPF Inc. appointed two product managers, for marking lasers and high-power lasers, respectively, at its Laser Technology Center in Mich. Clinton Coleman was named as TruMark product and project manager, and Edyth Nicholson was appointed as product and project manager for high-power lasers.

BOHEMIA, N.Y. — Dayton T. Brown Inc. appointed Jim Kelly president. Kelly joined the company in 2008 as a business development manager for the technical services division. Most recently, he served as executive vice president, managing the company’s three divisions. Additionally, Ivette Damish was promoted to vice president of business development for the technical services division.

PUCCHEIM, Germany — SCANLAB GmbH appointed Dirk Thomas, head of finance, and Christian Sonner, head of research and development, to its management board. The companys CEO, Georg Hofner, has worked for SCANLAB since 1995. COO Christian Huttenloher has stepped down from his position.
