ROANOKE, Va. — Fiber optic technology provider Luna Innovations named Brian Soller COO. Soller served as senior vice president and general manager of Lightwave, a division of Luna. Soller holds multiple patents in optics.

FREMONT, Calif. — Life sciences technology company Cytek Biosciences appointed Allen Poirson senior vice president of marketing and corporate development. Poirson had been on the company’s board of directors since March 2021, joining in 2018. The former CEO of Sony Biotechnology previously served as senior vice president of pharmaceutical business development for twoXAR Pharmaceuticals, an AI-powered drug discovery and development company.


DUBLIN, Calif. — Lidar solutions developer AEye added General Counsel Andrew Hughes and Chief of Staff Brent Blanchard to its executive team. The additions follow the appointment of Rick Tewell to the position of COO. Hughes previously served as vice president and general counsel (U.S.) at Renesas Electronics Corp. Blanchard most recently held the position of vice president of global sales, data, and devices at TE Connectivity.

TROY, N.Y. — Robert Karlicek, director of the Lighting Enabled Systems & Applications (LESA) Center, a National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering Research Center dedicated to the development of autonomous intelligent systems to address modern challenges in the connected environment, will serve as co-director of the new Rensselaer Institute for Energy, the Built Environment, and Smart Systems (EBESS). The institute will create sustainable infrastructure that is both net-zero and climate resilient through the use of renewable energy systems, sentient building platforms, and new materials. Karlicek spent more than 30 years in industrial research and management positions with corporations including AT&T Bell Labs, EMCORE, General Electric, Gore Photonics, Microsemi, Luminus Devices, and SolidUV.



VALLEY VIEW, Ohio — Nanolayered polymer film company Peak Nanosystems LLC named Jim Olson vice president of business development for Peak Nano Optics, a wholly owned subsidiary focused on optics lenses. Olson has more than 35 years of optics industry experience.


STOCKHOLM — Optical sensing and in-cabin monitoring solutions developer Neonode appointed Anthony Uhrick vice president of sales America. The company also announced that Johan Swartz has assumed the role of vice president of sales APAC and that Jonas Waern has assumed the role of vice president of sales EMEA.
