Photonics Automation Specialties Commissioned for Life Test Rack

TUCSON, Ariz., Sept. 29, 2017 — Photonics Automation Specialties has been commissioned by a leading manufacturer of diode laser devices for a fully automated 20-kW life test rack.

The custom system is fully integrated into the manufacturer’s production line and operates devices in both pulsed and continuous wave modes. Features also include monitoring of heat dissipation, device current, fiber boot temperature, voltage and optical power.

“We are pleased and excited to commission this state-of-the-art system in collaboration with our client. The system significantly reduces their touch-time, and completely automates the collection and reporting of data in a highly reliable platform,” said Jerry Knight-Rubino, president of Photonics Automation Specialties.

The company also offers characterization stations for both laser and LED devices including manufacturers as well as device integrators wishing to verify conformance to specification.

"With the ever-increasing requirement for compliance data and manufacturing process control, we continue to see strong demand for integrated test solutions such as this,” Knight-Rubino said.
