Photonics Vet Joins PixelTeq Sales Team
GOLDEN, Colo., April 3, 2013 — PixelTeq, formerly Ocean Thin Films, has named Marco Snikkers as director of sales and marketing in Europe.
Snikkers, who has more than 15 years of experience in the photonics sector, will direct all of PixelTeq’s sales and marketing activity in Europe from his base in the Netherlands. His spectroscopy and semiconductor experience will help increase the company’s new line of spectral sensing products, said Randel Mercer, vice president of business development.
Snikkers previously was commercial director for Ocean Optics, where he led the sales team in expanding to Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He also has worked as sales manager for the Europe and Asia regions in the semiconductor laser field and as product applications manager for a Dutch photonics startup company. He began his career as a high-speed laser research engineer at Philips Research.
PixelTeq provides OEM spectral sensing and imaging products, optical coatings and custom electro-optic devices for a variety of aerospace, biomedical, industrial, scientific and security applications.
