Pigott to Manage Coatings at CVI Laser Optics

CVI Laser Optics has hired Edgar Pigott as value stream manager of coating, the optics provider announced Wednesday.

Pigott joins the Albuquerque headquarters with more than 20 years of experience in lean manufacturing, most recently as director of operations at Schott Electronic Packaging. His primary responsibility will be to improve flow and first-pass yield in coating and cleanroom areas, the company said. Pigott has a BS in economics from the US Military Academy at West Point.

"I look forward to working alongside the CVI Laser Optics team and the opportunity to push their operational excellence to a new level for long-term success," Pigott said.

CVI Laser Optics, which specializes in optical components for lasers and laser-based systems, is a unit of Idex Optics & Photonics and was separated from Melles Griot in February (See: CVI Melles Griot Rebrands as 2 Companies).
