Proximion Opens New Plant

In Sweden, Proximion Fiber Systems AB, based in Stockholm, has opened a production facility in Kista in response to increased demand for its dispersion compensation modules based on fiber Bragg gratings. The new plant will allow the company to reduce production costs and make more efficient use of personnel. It will be able to more accurately schedule delivery times and decrease lead times by nearly 75 percent. The company provides optical modules and subsystems based on fiber Bragg grating technology. Its portfolio includes single-channel modules and complex continuous-band modules that are used to eliminate residual dispersion in submarine networks, or to enable dispersion compensation in coherent systems.
