Q-SYS Acquires Seervision’s Camera Automation Software

Q-SYS, a cloud-manageable audio, video, and control (AV&C) platform and a division of QSC, a manufacturer of power amplifiers, digital mixers, digital signal processors, and other audio products, will acquire Seervision, a developer of AI-driven camera automation software.

The acquisition accelerates Q-SYS’ development and delivery of a scalable software platform with intelligent AV&C technology that supports integration with leading unified communications and video conferencing applications.

Seervision’s auto-tracking capability recognizes and tracks a subject based on full-body identification, creating a unique visual ID for each detected subject from multiple reference points. This increases reliability compared to alternative motion-tracking solutions. The company’s camera automation software combines multicamera control with real-time optimization, machine learning, and predictive motion models to automatically predict and track a person’s movements.

The hardware agnostic software integrates into existing audio-visual/information technology ecosystems, and offers user control over multiple pan-tilt-zoom cameras with broadcast-quality motions.

According to Q-SYS, the acquisition supports applications like video conferencing and remote learning. The transaction is expected to close this summer.
