Quanergy Lidar Sensor Wins CES Innovation Award

Lidar sensor provider Quanergy Systems Inc. has received the Consumer Electronic Show’s (CES) 2017 Best of Innovation Award in the vehicle intelligence category for its S3 solid-state lidar sensor.

“We are delighted to be recognized with the CES ‘Best of Innovation’ Award, the most coveted award in the industry,” said Louay Eldada, CEO of Quanergy. “Taking home the top prize in the vehicle intelligence category is an immense honor. The S3 exemplifies Quanergy’s drive to push the boundaries of innovation in smart sensing and develop unique, disruptive and cost-effective products that enhance the safety, productivity and comfort of consumers on a mass scale.”

The S3 is a compact, low-cost, automotive-grade, solid-state lidar sensor with high reliability and capability. The sensor can be concealed into the body of any vehicle, ensuring uncompromised design aesthetics and aerodynamics. Its ability to perform real-time 3D mapping and object detection, tracking and classification enables autonomous driving.

The CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association and honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics across 28 product categories.
