Spectro Analytical Instruments GmbH, a unit of Ametek Materials Analysis Div., announced it formed a strategic marketing alliance with SII NanoTechnology Inc. to market its inductively coupled plasma optical emission (ICP-OES) and mass spectrometers (ICP-MS) in Japan. The alliance covers all Spectro ICP-OES and ICP-MS instruments, including Spectro Genesis, Arcos and MS. Spectro will continue to support its Japanese customers through a subsidiary that was established in 2008. To recognize the alliance, it sold an ICP-OES system to SII NanoTechnology for use at its Tokyo facility. The system will be used for demonstration and application support. SII NanoTechnology, originally an R&D division of Seiko Instruments, but now a stand-alone company, manufactures nanotechnology and ultraprecision measuring technology.
