ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 6, 2017 — Artemis Vision, a machine-vision integration solutions provider based in Denver, Colo., and VAIA Technologies LLC, a Boston, Mass.-based integrator, have completed the requirements necessary to receive accreditation as AIA Certified System Integrators. AIA, the Automated Imaging Association, grants this certification to integrators that meet specific industry criteria. These two companies join a group of 13 current Certified System Integrator companies. Their certification will be effective for three years at which time they can re-certify. “The team at Artemis Vision is thrilled...Read full articleRelated content from Photonics MediaARTICLESIntegrated Optical System Helps Contain COVID-19 in AirportsWill automated infection tracking become standard procedure in airports around the world? They are used in the entertainment, medical, scientific and business industries; for security...Photonics HandbookSWIR Imaging: An Industrial Processing Tool: Short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging with InGaAs-based cameras is well suited to nondestructive identification of materials, their composition, coatings and other characteristics.Imaging has long been used in industrial processes to measure, monitor, control or otherwise manage the production of goods. The challenge to the process designer is to develop a tool that captures...Photonics HandbookPolarization-Based Imaging: Basics and Benefits: With spatial correction, line scan polarization cameras detect birefringence, stress, surface roughness, and physical properties that cannot be detected with conventional imaging. There are three fundamental properties of light: intensity, wavelength, and polarization. Almost all cameras today are designed for monochrome or color imaging. A monochrome camera is used to measure...Photonics HandbookMachine Vision Cameras: Making the Right Selection: Improvements and affordability have broadened the use of vision systems for inspection, but several factors should be considered before making a purchase.Technological advances have resulted in new, higher-quality sensors that enable machine vision cameras to deliver greater features and functionality at a lower cost than ever before.
