BERLIN, Germany, Sept. 17, 2007 -- Bookham Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of optical components, modules and subsystems, announced today it is developing a full-band, 10-Gb/s, long-reach, tunable pluggable transceiver that will be available in the first half of 2008. The product will combine the company’s indium phosphide (InP) DS-DBR (digital supermode-distributed Bragg reflector) tunable laser and Mach-Zehnder (MZ) modulator with an avalanche photodiode receiver in a pluggable Super X2 format. Bookham made the announcement at ECOC 2007, the 33rd European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication...Read full articleRelated content from Photonics MediaArticlesSMART Photonics Doubles Production CapacitySMART Photonics, a foundry for photonic integrated circuits, has scaled up its production of photonic chips by transferring its entire production capability from 3-inch to 4-inch wafer substrates....Photonics Spectra April 2024 IssueActive-passive GaN Scheme Shows Promise for Photonic IntegrationResearchers from Nanjing University have proposed an active-passive photonic integration scheme that showcases a photonic integrated circuit chip that combines a light source, modulator, photodiode,...Photonics Spectra September 2023 Issue16th Biannual Optatec Conference Continues in FrankfurtOptatec, the international trade fair for optical technologies, components, and systems, returns to Messe Frankfurt May 14-16.
