Corning Bullish on LCD Glass Business

CORNING, N.Y., June 27 --Corning Inc. told financial analysts today that the active matrix liquid crystal display (LCD) glass industry is expected to continue experiencing strong annual growth over the next several years and that the company is well-positioned to take advantage of this opportunity.     liquid crystal display
    An alphanumeric display formed by a layer of liquid crystal material sandwiched between two sheets of glass; a transparent conductive coating on the glass is etched to form the character segments. An applied voltage causes the appropriate segments to darken as the molecules in the liquid crystal change their arrangement.
