Cree LED Bulb Breaks Records

Cree Chairman and CEO Chuck Swoboda demonstrated an A-lamp LED lightbulb with the highest lumen output and efficacy reported in the industry at the annual Cree shareholder meeting in Durham, N.C., last week. The company said the bulb produces 969 lumens at 102 lm/W – light output equivalent to a 65-W incandescent bulb – yet uses only 9.5 W.
