TAUNTON, Mass., Sept. 15 -- Kopin Corp., a manufacturer of microdisplays for consumer, military and industrial applications, is supplying a microdisplay system comprised of the CyberDisplay 180K, a TV decoder and driver controller chipset for the new Accupix MPG-230M, "personal movie theater" eyewear for DVD viewing. The Accupix MPG-230M weighs three ounces and displays a virtual image equivalent to a 30-inch diagonal screen viewed from six feet away, says it Korean manufacturer.     liquid crystal display
    An alphanumeric display formed by a layer of liquid crystal material sandwiched between two sheets of glass; a transparent conductive coating on the glass is etched to form the character segments. An applied voltage causes the appropriate segments to darken as the molecules in the liquid crystal change their arrangement.
