Eric I. Blachno has been named vice president of finance and CFO at Cascade Microtech Inc., a Beaverton, Ore.-based maker of test systems for microelectronics. (SMI), a Milpitas, Calif.-based manufacture of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS)-based silicon pressure sensors and custom microstructures, has completed expanding and renovating its MEMS wafer fabrication facility. . . . Actuality Systems Inc., a developer of spatial 3-D visualization technology, announced it has been awarded a $1.7 million grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology to commercialize low-cost scalable 3-D holographic video. The company said the grant will enable it to extend its Perspecta technologies to create 3-D holovideo systems for medical, security and entertainment applications.
