Industrial automation company Datalogic has acquired Pekat Vision, a developer of proprietary machine learning and deep learning algorithms for applications in the supply chain and industrial automation markets. The all-cash transaction was made by Datalogic subsidiary Datalogic srl, which acquired the entire share capital of the Czech Republic-based company. The transaction is valued at approximately $17.6 million. Pekat Vision’s software is hardware-agnostic and can be used on third-party devices and platforms. The company has developed proprietary algorithms that use machine learning and deep learning for the automation of processes in the manufacturing, transportation, and logistics sectors, with further potential for managing retail applications.
