Emcore Corp. announced its entrance into a long-term supply agreement with Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) to manufacture and deliver high-efficiency multijunction solar cells for SS/L’s commercial satellite program. The multiyear contract is the second-largest award in Emcore’s history, it said. The company, a provider of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the broadband, fiber optic, satellite and terrestrial solar power markets, will produce the solar cells at its Albuquerque manufacturing facilities.
