Grant Award Furthers Study of SWIR Light for Detecting Cancer

PISCATAWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J., Oct. 22, 2014 — Detecting cancer as early as possible can be crucial to providing effective treatment. The continuing development of a new imaging method could do just that. A Rutgers University research team, along with scientists from Singapore University of Technology and Design, is continuing to develop the new medical imaging method that would reduce — or even eliminate — the need for invasive, often time-consuming biopsies.
