Dr. Thomas Heinrich has joined Instrument Systems GmbH as chief operating officer and managing director, the company announced. He will report to Richard Distl, the founder and president. Heinrich’s appointment is a result of the company’s decision to expand its management. Instrument Systems and its subsidiary, Optronik Berlin, have seen significant growth, fueled by an increased demand for LEDs, general lighting and display metrology. Heinrich, who has been in his new position since Sept. 1, is responsible for finance, operations, human resources and production. Distl will maintain responsibility for strategy, R&D, marketing and sales. Instrument Systems develops, manufactures and markets turnkey solutions for light measurement.
