Your level of satisfaction with your current employment does not really dictate your worth in the marketplace. If these sources say your job, or the job you are being offered, is 50 percent above what you are making, then that’s what you should ask for. There is really no rule of thumb when expecting an increase from your new employer; ultimately you want your pay to be competitive with the marketplace.
