Laser-Guided Rocket System Tested by Australian Military

NASHUA, N.H., Oct. 13, 2014 — BAE Systems said its semi-active laser-guide rocket system could be adopted by the Australian Defence Forces following recent testing. The Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System scored direct hits in each of seven live-fire exercises held in August Woomera Prohibited Area test range in South Australia. It was the first time the system was used with 2.75-in. Forges de Zeebrugge (FZ) rockets. The U.S. military has used the system on Hydra rockets since 2012.
