Medical device giant Medtronic Inc. has acquired Visualase Inc. of Houston for $105 million. Visualase, which had been privately held, is the creator of an FDA-approved MRI-guided laser and image-guided system for minimally invasive neurosurgery, including surgical thermal ablation. This technology will be added to Medtronic’s surgical technology business.
