NeoPhotonics Corp. of San Jose, Calif., has appointed Björn Olsson to the company’s board of directors. A native of Sweden, Olsson most recently served as executive vice president and deputy head of business unit networks for Ericsson Group and also was a member of its executive management team. He has been associated with Ericsson for more than 25 years and has held several senior management positions there. His appointment raises the number of directors for NeoPhotonics to nine and, according to the company, establishes its independence in governance.
