Partnership to Develop CMOS Sensors for Digital Imaging

The Institute for Microelectronics in Stuttgart, Germany, and G-Link Technology, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based chip manufacturer, plan to work together on commercializing high-dynamic-range CMOS image sensor technology. The partnership leverages G-Link's experience in consumer chip technology with the institute's electronic vision technology to provide high-resolution image sensors for digital imaging. The technology could find a home in digital cameras, videophones and cameras used in machine vision. The partners say that the wide dynamic range of the new technology will eliminate costly...Read full article
