QD Vision Wins EPS's Green Chemistry Award

QD Vision Inc. has received the 2014 Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award for its approach to quantum dot technology for energy-efficient commercial display and lighting products. The designation, awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, recognizes chemical technologies that incorporate the principles of green chemistry in chemical design, manufacturing and use. Such technologies can reduce or eliminate the generation and use of hazardous substances. In developing their quantum dot technology, QD Vision employs processes that use fewer hazardous building blocks...Read full article

    quantum dots
A quantum dot is a nanoscale semiconductor structure, typically composed of materials like cadmium selenide or indium arsenide, that exhibits unique quantum mechanical properties. These properties arise from the confinement of electrons within the dot, leading to discrete energy levels, or "quantization" of energy, similar to the behavior of individual atoms or molecules. Quantum dots have a size on the order of a few nanometers and can emit or absorb photons (light) with precise wavelengths,...
