Researchers Use Photonic Systems to Improve Quantum Orienteering Protocols

HEFEI, China, March 5, 2020 — Scientists at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) have enhanced the performance of quantum orienteering with entangling measurements applied by way of photonic quantum walks. Quantum entanglement can manifest in both quantum states and quantum measurements. The researchers said that while there has been extensive research on entangling states, few studies of entangling measurements have been done, because entangling measurements are difficult to realize.
