Teledyne FLIR, Ansys Integrate LWIR Data into ADAS Sensor Suite

Teldyne FLIR and Ansys have launched a collaboration to integrate longwave-infrared (LWIR) information into advanced driver assistance and autonomous vehicle systems. The companies announced that Ansys’ AVxcelerate sensor simulation software suite is now offered with Thermal by FLIR, creating a tool for perception engineers and designers to help fast-track the integration of thermal imaging in ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) and AV (autonomous vehicle) sensor stacks, the companies said. Further, the integration will enable engineers to easily simulate millions of miles...Read full article

    infrared
Infrared (IR) refers to the region of the electromagnetic spectrum with wavelengths longer than those of visible light, but shorter than those of microwaves. The infrared spectrum spans wavelengths roughly between 700 nanometers (nm) and 1 millimeter (mm). It is divided into three main subcategories: Near-infrared (NIR): Wavelengths from approximately 700 nm to 1.4 micrometers (µm). Near-infrared light is often used in telecommunications, as well as in various imaging and sensing...
