Universal to Demonstrate 'Smart Windows'

Universal Display Corp. of Ewing, N.J., has entered into a $130,000 cooperative agreement with the US Department of Energy to develop "smart windows" for energy conservation in residential and commercial buildings. The devices will be based on Universal's transparent and phosphorescent organic LED technologies. Working with Princeton University of Princeton, N.J., the company will integrate the techniques with reflective modulating light-shuttering methods.
