Watching cataracts develop with an early detection technique

Cataracts typically are diagnosed after they have progressed to the point of obscuring a patient’s vision, hindering daily routines. This is the most common cause of blindness and is especially prevalent in developing countries where complications after surgery are more common. The disease can be caused or exacerbated by many things, including age, smoking and uncontrolled diabetes, but there had been no way to predict or prevent their development – until now.
