Rofin-Sinar Announces Q3 Numbers
HAMBURG, Germany, Aug. 7, 2015 — Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of high-
performance laser beam sources and solutions, has announced its fiscal third quarter results.
Net sales totaled $132.5 million, a 1 percent decrease over the comparable quarter of fiscal
2014. Gross profit totaled $52.3 million, or 39 percent of net sales, compared to $46.7 million, or 35
percent of net sales, in the same period of fiscal 2012. Net income rose to $11.6 million, compared to
6.5 million last year, representing 9 and 5 percent of net sales, respectively.
Sales of lasers for marking and micro applications increased by 9 percent to $64.1 million,
representing 48 percent of sales, while sales of laser products for macro applications decreased by 14
percent to $48.7 million, accounting for 37 percent of total sales. Component sales increased by 5
percent to $19.7 million, representing 15 percent of total sales.
Asian revenue increased by 11 percent, totaling $50.4 million, with North American revenue
increasing by 10 percent to $27.5 million and European revenue decreasing by 15 percent to $54.6
million.
