WALDKIRCH, Germany, June 17, 2021 — SICK is partnering with Vention, a developer of software for manufacturing automation, to accelerate the design and deployment of applications custom-built for robot guidance systems. The partnership combines SICK’s PLB and PLOC2D systems with Vention’s manufacturing automation platform.

Vention’s cloud-based platform enables customers to design, automate, and deploy SICK robot guidance systems with 2D and 3D solutions for use in bin-picking applications. The PLB 3D bin-picking and PLOC2D vision solutions are already available for machine design on the Vention platform. SICK’s PLB and PLOC2D systems are designed for easy integration with any robot brand, which is further enhanced through the Vention platform.

The partnership with SICK is the latest of several collaborations with automation, software, and robotics companies. Vention has worked or is working with OnRobot, FANUC, SMC, and Yaskawa Motoman.
