Safran DSI Expands Sensing Capabilities with Attollo Engineering Acquisition
Safran Defense and Space, Inc. (Safran DSI) acquired Attollo Engineering, a company specialized in compact, high-performance imaging and laser sensing solutions. The acquisition strengthens Safran DSI’s product offerings by enhancing its capabilities in advanced imaging and sensing technologies.
Attollo Engineering, based in Camarillo, Calif., specializes in SWIR and MWIR imaging systems and laser sensing technologies. Known for its small pixel pitch sensors with advanced functionality, Attollo delivers innovative solutions based on small sensor cores and laser imaging to the defense, aerospace, and commercial sectors.
Attollo's expertise in miniaturized imaging and laser sensing systems is expected to complement and expand Safran DSI's existing product lines by enhancing situational awareness, target detection, and surveillance capabilities for military and aerospace applications. The integration is further anticipated to accelerate the development of American-made next-generation solutions to meet the evolving demands of U.S. government and commercial partners, Safran DSI said.
Following the acquisition, Attollo will continue to operate as a merchant supplier of key sensors and subsystems across defense and commercial markets.
