Samsung LED Co. Ltd. of Suwon, South Korea, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Osram Korea Co. Ltd. and two companies that sell Osram’s products in Korea – Barun Electronics Co. Ltd. and Dabo Industrial Systems Co. Ltd. Filed at the Seoul Central District Court, the lawsuit requests an injunction from unauthorized use of Samsung LED’s intellectual property as well as monetary damages. The eight patents-in-suit relate to LED chip and package technology used in LED light lenses and high-power applications. The lawsuit is in response to Osram GmbH’s lawsuits against Samsung and LG in Germany and the US.
