Schneider Enters LED Market

BAD KREUZNACH, Germany, March 18, 2010 - Schneider-Kreuznach, a producer of specialty lenses and industrial optics, is entering the LED market with custom diodes for machine vision, medical and semiconductor technologies.

The company’s product designers are exploring ways to optimize efficiency by overcoming mechanical and thermal hurdles. Plans are being made for UV and infrared as well as visible applications, and the first products are expected to roll out this year.

Schneider-Kreuznach is part of the Schneider Group, which includes Pentacon of Dresden and Schneider Optics of New York.
