Schott and Zett Optics to Advance Light Sources

Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email Comments
In Germany, Schott AG's fiber optics unit in Mainz and Zett Optics GmbH of Braunschweig continue their long-term business relationship in the fields of microscopy and machine vision with a joint venture agreement. The companies intend to develop fiber optic light sources and light source modules for a variety of applications, ranging from general laboratory to specialist areas.

Schott will be responsible for flexible fiber optic light-guiding and for interfacing to an application, and Zett will select the best light source. The Zett facility will house development and production of the units. Items produced by the venture will be marketed worldwide under the Schott brand name through that company's sales network.
