SANTA BARBARA, Calif., March 2, 2021 — Senseeker Engineering, a developer of digital infrared image sensing technology, acquired SE-IR Corp. SE-IR manufactures cryogenic test equipment as well as software for operating, testing, and demonstrating infrared focal plane arrays. The acquisition combines Senseeker’s advanced digital readout IC technology and SE-IR’s industry standard test Dewars and electronics, enabling focal plane array developers to expedite the development and evaluation process.

The SE-IR business and team will integrate into Senseeker’s organization. Senseeker will maintain the SE-IR brand, which will be repurposed as Senseeker Engineering Infrared. All existing SE-IR products will continue to be supported.

Glossary
infrared
Infrared (IR) refers to the region of the electromagnetic spectrum with wavelengths longer than those of visible light, but shorter than those of microwaves. The infrared spectrum spans wavelengths roughly between 700 nanometers (nm) and 1 millimeter (mm). It is divided into three main subcategories: Near-infrared (NIR): Wavelengths from approximately 700 nm to 1.4 micrometers (µm). Near-infrared light is often used in telecommunications, as well as in various imaging and sensing...
