TRUMPF Appoints CFO; II-VI Extends CEO Mattera: People in the News: 08/24/22
MUNICH, Aug. 24, 2022 — Laser communications company Mynaric has named Mustafa Veziroglu as president and as a member of its management board. Veziroglu served as chief operating officer of SA Photonics, a developer of laser communications for space, airborne, and terrestrial environments. In his role at Mynaric, Veziroglu will be responsible for all operational product-related activities within Mynaric overseeing the entire product lifecycle from development through delivery.
II-VI is extending the contract of CEO Vincent "Chuck" Mattera through 2030. Mattera served as a member of the II-VI board from 2000 to 2002. He joined the company as vice president in 2004 and served as executive vice president from 2010 to 2013, when he became chief operating officer. He was reappointed to the board in 2012. In 2014, Mattera became the president and chief operating officer. In 2016, he became president and CEO, and he continued as CEO when the roles of president and CEO were separated in 2019. He was named chair and CEO in 2021.
FARMINGTON, Conn. — Laser technology company TRUMPF Inc., the North American subsidiary of TRUMPF GmbH + Co. KG, appointed Bettina Steingruber CFO. The position was previously held by Lutz Labisch, who has served as president and CEO of TRUMPF Inc. since March. The company also promoted Burke Doar to executive vice president.

BOSTON — Optical computing company Lightmatter named Richard Ho vice president of hardware engineering. Ho served as senior director of engineering at Google and was one of the earliest engineers on the Google Cloud TPU project. Ho will spearhead Lightmatter’s chip engineering division, with a focus on developing and deploying Lightmatter’s photonic AI accelerator and wafer-scale interconnect for faster and cleaner computing solutions at scale.
NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia — Semiconductor technology company BluGlass appointed Rob Ambrogio CFO. Ambrogio is a chartered accountant with more than 20 years of experience and has held CFO roles at Gowing Bros Ltd., MTC Australia, and Creative Activation.
STOCKHOLM — Sensor technology company Neonode appointed Thierry Corman vice president of operations and Helena Börjesson vice president of people and culture. Corman previously served in various management positions at Kyocera Tikitin, Scania, and Silex Microsystems. He replaces Ulf Mårtensson, who will retire this year. Börjesson has over 20 years of experience working in various human resource roles for engineering and IT companies, such as Vattenfall, SNC Lavalin, Atkins, and, most recently, Assa Abloy.
