Teledyne Judson Expands Lead Salt IR Detector Fabrication Facility

MONTGOMERYVILLE, Pa., March 20, 2015 — Teledyne Judson Technologies LLC has completed a major expansion of its cleanroom facilities for producing IR detectors based on the lead salts PbS and PbSe.

The company offers lead salt detectors in a variety of sizes and packaging, including flat-plate cells format, transistor outline-style packages and with thermoelectric coolers to provide low-temperature operation for increased sensitivity. Sensors with discrete filters, multifilter arrays and integrated lenses are also available.

Applications include nondispersive IR spectroscopy, optical pyrometry, flame spectroscopy, moisture analysis, environmental gas analysis, medical gas analysis and inspection of grain and feed.

Due to their high performance at room temperature and compact size, Judson said, lead salt detectors are also suitable for mobile applications, smart home equipment and the Internet of Things.

Teledyne Judson Technologies is a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc.
