Telops Awarded IR Camera Contract

QUEBEC CITY, April 8, 2011 — Infrared camera and hyperspectral imaging systems supplier Telops announced it has been awarded a contract valued at more than $600,000 by Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC).

The contract includes the delivery of two Telops HD-IR 1280 high-definition infrared cameras, which are suitable for real-time temperature calibration. The instantaneous availability of processed and calibrated images in this model will assist Canadian forces in their efforts, the company said.

In addition, the camera will be used by DRDC defense scientists and engineers who are examining the role of airborne reconnaissance as an option for the Canadian military.

An agency of the Canadian Department of National Defence, the DRDC focuses on Canada’s scientific and technological needs. It comprises nine research centers across Canada and a corporate office in Ottawa.
