Telops Receives Hyper-Cam Order

Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email Comments
Telops of Quebec City has received a contract order from the Public Research Center – Gabriel Lippmann (CRP-GL) in Luxembourg, Belgium, for an airborne Hyper-Cam Fourier transform infrared hyperspectral imaging system. The order includes the delivery and customization of the Hyper-Cam, along with an airborne platform that allows the system to be mounted in an airplane for advanced infrared hyperspectral mapping and for the detection and identification of infrared substances. CRP-GL will use the platform to enhance its environmental management capabilities. Telops manufactures infrared cameras and hyperspectral imaging systems for defense and security, environmental and industrial applications.

hyperspectral imaging
Methods for identifying and mapping materials through spectroscopic remote sensing. Also called imaging spectroscopy; ultraspectral imaging.
infrared mapping
The process of mapping the infrared emittance of an area through the use of an infrared detector and related scanning instrumentation to produce thermal images that are then recorded on photographic film. If black and white film is used, the area's varying infrared intensities are recorded in shades of gray. With color film, false colors, such as the bright magenta produced by the high infrared emittance of vegetation, distinguish different intensities.
