TriEye and LITEON Technology Partner on SWIR Sensing and Imaging
TriEye, a developer of cost-effective, mass-market SWIR sensing technology, has partnered with LITEON Technology, a provider of opto-semiconductor and power management technologies. Per the partnership, the companies will develop a VCSEL-powered SWIR sensing and imaging solution.
The partnership has already led to the development of a technology demonstrator that combines TriEye’s TES200 CMOS-based SWIR image sensor with LITEON’s 1135-nm VCSEL product. Adopting high-volume scalable manufacturing strategies, these products provide cost-effective solutions for both consumer and industrial market demands.
TriEye’s full stack sensor TES200, which the company released last summer, is designed to enable SWIR imaging in various industries, including industrial machine vision, robotics, and consumer electronics. LITEON’s 1135-nm VCSEL array product optimizes SWIR system performance and is expected to broaden the scope of applications in imaging, sensing, robotics, and datacom across multiple industries with additional eye safety compared to existing solutions.
The demonstration is not TriEye's first leveraging semiconductor laser capabilities. With Coherent in 2023, TriEye jointly demonstrated a laser-illuminated SWIR imaging system for automotive and robotic applications.
