TrueVision Systems Inc.

Mar 2011
TrueVision Systems Inc. of Santa Barbara, Calif., has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA to market the TrueVision 3D Visualization and Guidance System for image-guided ophthalmic surgery. The new system combines the current TrueVision 3D Visualization System running TrueWare 3D Imaging OS with the new proprietary software tool, the TrueVision Refractive Cataract Toolset. Computer-aided surgical guidance is provided during procedures such as capsulorhexis, toric intraocular lens positioning and corneal limbal relaxing incisions to correct astigmatism. Pre- and postoperative 3-D image capture is enabled using the new TrueVision platform in conjunction with slit-lamp biomicroscopes.

A lens aberration that results in the tangential and sagittal image planes being separated axially.
