Tsinghua University Taps Advanced Photonix

Advanced Photonix Inc. of Ann Arbor, Mich., will supply Tsinghua University of Beijing with its Picometrix T-Ray 2000 systems for investigations into terahertz technology. The product — which comprises a transmitter, receiver, control box, grating dispersion compensator, computer and associated software — is designed to produce, detect and analyze ultrashort terahertz wave pulses used for development of imaging and spectroscopy devices for nondestructive testing and other applications. In return, the company will have access to the university’s terahertz application development lab for customer demonstrations.
