BOSTON, Feb. 11 -- Tyco International Ltd. said it has cut about 1000 jobs at its undersea fiber-optic cable business, TyCom Ltd.
The jobs cut at TyCom, recently renamed Tyco Telecommunications, represent about 44 percent of its worldwide work force of 2250. Employees will be offered severance packages and outplacement benefits, Tyco said.
