OLED technology developer Universal Display Corp. has been named Master Technology Company of the Year by the New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC), the company announced Wednesday.

The 2013 NJTC Awards honor the state’s top technology companies and their leaders for business accomplishments in technological collaboration, partnership and innovation.

Universal Display was cited by the NJTC, a private, nonprofit organization, for creating more than 100 jobs and establishing a global footprint. A developer of white and flexible OLED technologies and materials for the display and lighting industries, Universal Display is based in New Jersey and has offices in Ireland, South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan.

“This year was particularly difficult to select those being honored from the more than 50 nominations that came from deserving companies,” said NJTC president and CEO Maxine Ballen. “The judges were truly challenged and did a terrific job in identifying companies that represent the best of the region’s technology community.”

Universal Display will receive the award at a gala event on Nov. 21 in Princeton, N.J.
