Veeco Instruments Inc. of Woodbury, N.Y., and Leica Microsystems GmbH of Wetzlar, Germany, have finalized a collaboration to perform biological research and nanomedicine. The initial phase includes plans to incorporate the New York company’s BioScope II atomic force microscope with the German company’s DMI series of inverted microscopes. The result will combine atomic force, optical fluorescence and confocal microscopy technologies for high-resolution cell biology images.
