William Tomeo Joins Veeco as EVP, Worldwide Sales and Service

Veeco Instruments Inc. of Woodbury, N.Y., a provider of metrology and process equipment systems to the semiconductor, data storage, high-brightness LED/wireless and scientific/research markets, announced it has named William A. Tomeo as executive vice president of worldwide sales and service, which includes global field sales, account management, customer service and field support for all the company's domestic and international customers. Tomeo, a 35-year sales, marketing and management veteran of the technology industry, joins Veeco from JDSU, where he most recently served as vice president/general manager of the service assurance solutions division of the Communications Test business. He also served in a key marketing role at Agilent Technologies and worked for over 20 years at Hewlett Packard, where he was vice president, marketing and worldwide sales, for the Communications Test Solutions Group. Tomeo was also president and CEO of several startup high technology companies. Veeco also announced that John K. Bulman, formerly senior vice president of North American and sector sales, will retire at the end of 2007.
